Urgent resolution for the issues regarding the service road, drainage, and foot-over-bridge, as well as the travel woes at Vattappara! 🛣️

An urgent joint inspection was conducted alongside a team of senior officials to address the severe travel difficulties and drainage defects in the Valanchery-Vattappara area, which arose in connection with the National Highway 66 development project. 🤝
The official team visited the site following the persistent interventions of Hon. MP Abdussamad Samadani, Hon. Kottakkal MLA Prof. Abid Hussain Thangal, and Valanchery Municipal Chairperson Haseena Vattoli.
Previously, Mujeeb Valasi (former Chairman of the Municipal Education Standing Committee and current Councilor), Ashraf Ambalathingal (former Chairman and current Chairman of the Public Works Standing Committee), and former Councilor Abida Mansoor had submitted complaints regarding these issues to the Hon. MP, the MLA, and the NHAI. A team comprising NHAI Project Director Praveen Kumar and Special Deputy Collector Shaji K. visited the area and took the following key decisions:
1️⃣ Drainage Construction: Orders were issued to prepare an estimate for the urgent construction of a drainage system to prevent rainwater from the National Highway—flowing beneath the viaduct—from rushing into nearby homes and water sources. 🌧️
2️⃣ Foot Overbridge (FOB): The Project Director assured that an estimate for a foot overbridge between Vattappara and Kanjippura is being prepared to ensure pedestrian safety and that construction will commence soon. 🌉
3️⃣ Valanchery Service Road: Construction of the service road from Vattappara to Valanchery will be expedited, following Cabinet approval to acquire the necessary surplus land. 🚗
4️⃣ Connection Road: Measures will be taken to restore the road connection from the Vattappara Vadakke Kulambu–Athanikkal bypass to the National Highway. 🛣️
Valanchery Municipal Chairperson Haseena Vattoli, Deputy Chairman K.V. Unnikrishnan, Councilors Mujeeb Valasi, Siddique Haji Kalodi, and Sulaikha Karakadan, along with UDF leaders Salam Valanchery and Rajan Master, were also present. He was with the MLA.
